Dr James Freer MBChB (Hons) BSc (Hons) MRCGP GMBPsS

Hi, I’m DR JAMES FREER

I’m a GP, Psychologist and Life Coach with over 20 years of professional experience.

Every man is an individual and will have their own pressures and challenges. Whether it be mood, stress, body image, sexual performance, self esteem, or any of a multitude of issues, I hope I can help you.

Many men struggle with feeling overwhelmed, directionless, or unfulfilled. They know they want more out of life but aren't sure how to get there. They perhaps feel life hasn’t turned out exactly how they had hoped or is heading in a direction that they don’t like. Whether it's advancing your career, improving your relationships, or finding a better work-life balance, these challenges can seem daunting without the right support.

With a unique understanding of both medicine and psychology and my personal experience of life as a father, husband and busy professional, I hope I can help you.

Together we can take control of your life rather than letting life control you.

If you’re ready for the first step on your journey to a better life then click below to book.

Best wishes

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME AND MY EXPERIENCE…

My interest in science and human behaviour led me to first study and gain a BSc Honours degree in Psychology from University of Wales, Bangor. I then went on to study Medicine, gaining a MBChB Honours degree at the University of Leicester.

My junior Doctor years took me back to my homeland of Yorkshire and the hospitals and surgeries of Leeds, Harrogate and rural North Yorkshire before qualifying as a GP in 2013. Those training jobs included Urology and Psychiatry which gave me incredibly relevant knowledge and skills for my interest in Men’s Health which I then developed over the following decade in GP.

Over the years I’ve balanced being a busy professional with being a husband and a father of three children. But like so many men I’ve experienced stress, depression and burnout. It took life coaching and therapy to help me realise how to turn my life around.

With a deep understanding of both the mind and body alongside my own unique lived experience I hope I can help others change their lives for the better.

Alongside my private work I continue to be an NHS GP and an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Hull York Medical School.
